This is what a Saint Pyrenees sitting in the back of a Mustang looks like.

Maybe some of you remember me posting about Taz a few months ago. Quick update, he’s doing MUCH better. We’ve put him through training and he’s calmed way down. I would actually say he’s more well behaved than most other dogs I know, which is saying something considering where he came from.

We rescued Taz (his prison name was Gordie, we didn’t think it fit his personality) in May. He was a stray who had been found by someone in Fairfax, VA and taken to a rescue. When he was brought in, he was 60 pounds and had a major intestinal infection. He stayed there for a couple weeks. They sorted his infection, but realized he had major aggression issues - mostly centered around food. When we came to get him, the rescue actually wouldn’t let us take him home that day because they wanted us to really think about it. He had bitten and broke the skin of someone at the rescue, so they were really hesitant. We took him anyway knowing that he’d be a project. It has been hard. Like really hard. But I can proudly say that Taz is reformed. I can basically take the food out of his mouth now without him complaining. He listens to commands almost no matter the circumstances (we live in the city so this is very important), and he has really grown to trust us.

Just thought I’d share this story cause there’s a lot of dog people on this site and I wanted to get this out before Oppo bites the dust (if it really is).

My Uncle had a Great Pyrenees. It thought it was a cat. It would try to follow the cat under things and would also leap into my uncles lap.

Here’s mine. He was the worst dude in his training class but now is the best dude of all.

That is some of the best Dog news Ive heard in a long time. Training that Food aggression out is a real SOB! Good on ya for being so dedicated. I hope you let the shelter know of his progress too.
